The hearing of suspended Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Governor Godwin Emefiele was put on hold because one of the bank's employees was sick.
Emefiele was charged along with Sa'adatu Yaro, an employee of the CBN, and her company, April 16 Investment Ltd., on 20 counts of procurement theft and giving himself corrupt benefits.
At the hearing on Thursday, Abubakar Mohammed, who is the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP), told the court that Yaro had gotten sick in the morning and would not be able to attend the trial.
Emefiele's lawyer, Alabi Ajayi Esq, didn't say anything against the application.
Justice Hamza Muazu put the case on hold until August 23 so that the prosecution could bring the second suspect to court.
